(12): It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If a slave [of Allah] gets up for prayer, Allah, The Almighty, will turn His Face to him (as a kind of paying attention to him). But if he turns, the Almighty Lord would tell him: 'O son of Adam, who are you turning to? Is it to someone who is better then I? 'O son of Adam, do not turn away from me." If the salve turns again, the Almighty Lord will say the same. If the slave turns for the third time, Allah, The Almighty, turns away from him."

The Verification of the Hadeeth: Its Isnaad (i.e. chain of transmission) is weak.

It was reported by Al-Bazzaar in his Musnad as in Kashf Al-Astaar (552) from the route of Al-Fadhl ibn ‘Isa Ar-Raqaashi from Muhammad ibn Al-Munkadir from Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullaah, may Allaah be pleased with them.

Its Isnaad is weak because Al-Fadhl ibn ‘Isa Ar-Raqaashi is weak. Imam Ahmad and An-Nasaa'i, may Allaah be pleased with them, and others deemed him weak.

Ibn Ma‘een said: "He used to relate stories and was an evil person… do not ask about the evil one who adopt the Qadri approach."

Ibn Hibaan said: "The people of Basrah reported from him. He used to adopt the Qadri approach and call for it. He also used to relate stories and he was one of those who used to narrate Munkar  Hadeeths from famous narrators. " (1).

Al-Haythami said: "It was reported by Al-Bazzaar and its chain of narrators includes Al-Fadhl ibn ‘Isa Ar-Raqaashi and scholars of Hadeeth agreed upon his weakness."

The Hadeeth has a witness from the Hadeeth of Abu Hurairah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that was reported by Al-‘Uqayli in Adh-Dhu‘afaa' Al-Kabeer (110) from the route of Ibraheem ibn Yazeed Al-Khuzi from ‘Ataa' from Abu Hurairah, may Allaah be pleased with him.

It was also reported from the route of Ibraaheem Al-Khuzi by Ibn Abi Ad-Dunya in the chapter of Qiyaam Al-Layl (i.e. establishing optional prayer at night) (505), Al-Bazzaar in Kashf Al-Astaar (554), and Ath-Tha‘labi in his Tafseer (7/38). It is also weak because of Ibraaheem Al-Khuzi about whom Imam Ahmad and An-Nasaa'i, may Allaah have mercy upon them, said: "His Hadeeth is Matrook ." Ibn Ma‘een said: "I have nothing to say about his Hadeeth and he is not reliable." Imam Al-Bukhaari, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: "They kept silent about him." Abu Haatim said: "His Hadeeth is Da‘eef and Munkar."

Al-Haafith, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said in At-Taqreeb: "His Hadeeth is Matrook (2)." Al-Haythami said: "It was reported by Al-Bazzaar and its chain of narrators includes Ibraaheem ibn Yazeed Al-Khuzi and it is weak."
