1- Excessive Sensitivity Towards all What is Related to the Exaltation of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him:

Finally, here is what can be the cause of adopting negligence towards the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and being convinced with it which is the excessive sensitivity, that occurs from some of those who belong to As-Sunnah wal Jamaa‘ah, towards all what is related to the exaltation, reverence of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, or regarding highly the members of his household, whether when mentioning him or them, or intending to mentioning him or them, fearing be similar to some of deviant groups. This is something incorrect. That is because such exaltation of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is not meant to go beyond the Shar‘i exaltation stated in the Noble Book of Allah, The Almighty, and honorable Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, nor celebrating the Mawlad (i.e. birthday of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him), nor being present nor enjoying the praises only. The basic principle in this exaltation is to be done according to the instructions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the way of his companions. Actually, the truthful love can be easily distinguished via adhering to the Sunnah and if the guidance of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stated before him he cling firmly to it and keeps away from all innovations introduced to the religion unlike the one whom if Sunnah is stated before, he left it and followed his own desires.

Such excessive sensitivity may need to be put in a clearer way by example: I still remember a scholar who is very well known on the Dawah scene who used to send great deal of peace and blessing upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in his lessons, lectures and poetry. His students used to criticize him for doing this a lot. Where are they far away from the Hadeeth of Ubayy ibn Ka‘b, may Allah be pleased with him, in which he said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: “Should I make all of my payer for you?” 

Some of them may say that the one who is unmindful of the status of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has softness in religion and weakness in his conviction unlike the truthful lover who has softness for religion and strong conviction. What harm may afflict one if he adheres firmly to the honorable Sunnah to be put in any category?

Should the one who loves the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, be blamed for this? What a great honor! What a great glory!

If I declared loudly their love, then this is something natural for the righteous predecessors before me had good example in this regard:

The lover should have a stop to choose between consolation or love.

At this, he can move his feet backward or inward

Our dear read should adopt such great title for the life of the truthful lover:

It is amazing that I miss them and even long for them while they are with me.

My eyes seek them while they see them and the bottom of my heart complains while they are between my hands.

You should, may Allah protect you, adhere firmly to truth, even if you are alone for certainly you will get a support no matter how long the road or how many its obstacles are. Surely, Allah alone is the One Who guide to the right path.
