1- Loving Allah, The Almighty, feeling the delight with remembering, praising and thanking Him for the outward and inwards blessings, for He, The Almighty, has the complete and perfect praise and commendation. One may acknowledge his inability to thank Allah, The Almighty, properly. Actually, this is as what has been stated: being unable to thank Allah, The Almighty, properly is a form of gratefulness to Him. Allah, The Almighty, Says (what means) in His Book: {So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.} [Quran 2: 152]

Allah, The Almighty, has guided us and made us from the best nation produced as an example for mankind, guided us in what the people of the scripture differed, and guided us to this noblest Messenger, peace and blessing be upon him, who is the greatest blessing and the most sublime glory ever. Allah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah…} [Quran 16: 53]

Allah, The Almighty, has gathered such blessings together saying: {O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance. And exalt Him morning and afternoon. It is He who confers blessing upon you, and His angels [ask Him to do so] that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful. Their greeting the Day they meet Him will be, "Peace." And He has prepared for them a noble reward. O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And one who invites to Allah , by His permission, and an illuminating lamp. And give good tidings to the believers that they will have from Allah great bounty.} [Quran 33: 41-47]

In fact, remembering Allah, The Almighty, is the best way of attaining the love for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

One should also make great deal of supplicating Allah, The Almighty, to grant him truthfulness in his love and permanent and standing firm of following the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.

During the day times I feel great love and at night love calls me again and I answer it.

Our days end up but my love increases as if the time of love never ends up.

One should feel delight with his seclusion so as to dedicate himself fully to worshiping Allah, The Almighty. This implies a unique pleasure that cannot be attained except by being in seclusion. Therefore, Imam Ahmad, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: "I have seen that seclusion is the comforter to my heart."

Also, Sheykh Al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: "There is a Paradise in this worldly life (i.e. the mention of Allaah); he who does not enter it, will not enter the Paradise of the Hereafter."

Moreover, he, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said in another situation:  “What can my enemies do to me? My Paradise (i.e. the mentioning of Allaah) is in my heart; it moves with me wherever I go. Imprisonment for me is a religious retreat. To be killed is martyrdom, and to be expelled to another land is a spiritual journey."

Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: "one of the relatives of the Sheykh Al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him, told me saying: "At the beginning of his life he would occasionally go out to the desert to be in seclusion from the people due to the powerful trials he faces.

I followed him one day without him knowing. When he reached the desert, he heaved a deep sigh. Then I heard him saying the following line of poetry:

I have come out from among the houses so that I can speak to myself about you O my Lord!

Amongst the signs of loving Allah, The Almighty, is that one never needs anything from anyone other than Him and never asks anyone other than Him as Thu'l-Nun Al-Misri, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: "Say to the one who manifested loving for Allah, The Almighty, to beware of being humiliated to anyone other than Him.

And amongst the other signs of loving Allah, The Almighty, is to have no need to anyone other than Him."

Allah, The Almighty, has praised some of His worshipers saying (what means): {…But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah...} [Quran 2: 165]

My day is like that of all people; however, when the night comes beds shake me to stand up before You.

I spend my day in talking and hoping but when the night comes I only long to You.

Amongst the other indications of loving Allah, The Almighty, is reciting, contemplating and thinking thoughtfully about His words, feeling submissive while reciting His verses, understanding well its limits and acting upon its commands, dedicating oneself to offer Nawaafil (i.e. supererogatory acts of worship) after performing the obligatory acts of worship as Allah, The Almighty, said in the Hadeeth Al-Qudsi , 'I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mine. And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawaafil till I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; (i.e. give him My Refuge) and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him."

Loving Allah, The Almighty, is not just words to be said, nor stories to be narrated. The same principle applies to loving His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. Also, it (loving Allah, The Almighty,) cannot be just a claim made by the tongue, nor emotion with the heart only. Rather, it is to be accompanied with adopting the guidance of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and following his footsteps, applying his approach in our worldly life. Love is not just songs to be sung nor poems to be recited, nor mere words. However, it is to obey Allah, The Almighty, and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, acting upon the religion of Allah, The Almighty, that the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, conveyed.

The first thing that is required from the believer is to dedicate his loyalty to Allah, The Almighty, and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and his love for His Messenger, where such love appears clearly in his conduct and all of his life. There are many verses refer to such concepts. Allah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."  Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger." But if they turn away - then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers.} [Quran 3: 31-32]
