1- Loving all of the Companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, Mentioning their Good Deeds and Virtues and Refraining from Commenting on the Disputes Occurred among them. For ourselves, we love whoever loves Allah, The Almighty, and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. Also, loving, being loyal and ally to them draws one nearer to the love of Allah, The Almighty, and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and brings about loving them both. In the same sense, we love and hate according to what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, hates and love. This actually one of the required effects of loving the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Therefore, when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, heard a voice related to whom he loved, he felt very happy. It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah, may Allaah be pleased with her, said: "Once Haalah bint Khuwailid, Khadeejah's sister, asked the permission of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to enter. On that, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, remembered the way Khadeejah, may Allaah be pleased with him, used to ask permission, and that upset him. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "O Allah! Haalah!" So I became jealous…"

Moreover, it was narrated that whenever the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, slaughtered a sheep, he said: "Send it to the companions of Khadeejah, may Allaah be pleased with her."

Ibn Hajar, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: "The Hadeeth indicates that if one loves something, he loves its related and beloved matters, what is similar to it and what is related to it."

Wind of love passes strongly by the inhabitants of Najd and although they do not feel it, it strikes my heart fiercely.

It came recently from the beloved and the love of every soul is attracted to the place of its beloved.

I am not in the place of mind so that we may set right such love; however, it is a reality and how great it is!

I love the tribe of Bani Al-Awwaam because of loving her and even for her sake I love the tribe of Kalb; her maternal uncles.

Every sane person has to contemplate well the reality of love, its effects and meaning.

O the inhabitants of Teeybah (Medina), we love all of you for the sake of our beloved.

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against those slander or blame his companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, saying: “No one should revile my Companions. For if one amongst you were to spend as much gold as (the mountain of) Uhud, it would not amount to as much as one mudd (handful) of one of them or half of it.”

This applies to the companions as a whole. As for the Ansaar (i.e. the Supports of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him), it was narrated that Anas, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: "Abu Bakr and Al-‘Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with them, passed by one of the gatherings of the Ansaar who were weeping then. He (i.e. Abu Bakr or Al-‘Abbaas) asked, "Why are you weeping?" They replied, "We are weeping because we remember the gathering of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with us." So Abu Bakr went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and told him of that. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came out, tying his head with a piece of the hem of a sheet. He, peace and blessings be upon him, ascended the pulpit which he never ascended after that day. He, peace and blessings be upon him, glorified and praised Allah and then said, "I request you to take care of the Ansaar as they are my near companions to whom I confided my private secrets.  They have fulfilled their obligations and rights which were enjoined on them but there remains what is for them. So, accept the good of the good-doers amongst them and excuse the wrongdoers amongst them."

In another variant narration reported by Imam Al-Bukhaari, may Allaah have mercy upon him, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "People will go on increasing but the Ansaar will go on decreasing."

Ibn Hajar, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: "This Hadeeth points out that Arab and foreigners will enter into Islam. They will be many times greater in number than the tribe of the Ansaar, regardless the large reproduction of Al-Ansaar for other Muslim (other than the Ansaar) will also have large reproduction. Thus, Al-Ansaar will remain forever fewer than them. There is another possibility that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, may be informed that they will generally decrease by time and thus he informed us with this. This actually comes true. That is because the current offspring of ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib, may Allaah be pleased with him, i.e. those who have real lineage to him is greater than the offspring who have real lineage to the two tribes of Al-Aws and Al-Khazraj, put aside the great number that claim that they belong to them without any proof."

Furthermore, invitation to loving the Ansaar reached the extent that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, made their love a sign of sound faith and that hating them a sign of hypocrisy saying about them: “No one loves them but a believer and no one hates them but a hypocrite. Whoever loves them, Allaah will love him, and whoever hates them, Allaah will hate him.”

As for Al-Muhajireen (i.e. the Emigrants), Allah, The Almighty, Says (what means) in the most truthful, clearest and accurate way: {For the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their properties, seeking bounty from Allah and [His] approval and supporting Allah and His Messenger, [there is also a share]. Those are the truthful.} [Quran 59: 8]

Allah, The Almighty, mentioned both of them (Ansaar and Al-Muhajireen) in another verse of the Noble Quran: {And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansaar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.} [Quran 9: 100]

What may also encourage us to be loyal and increase our love to them is remembering what follows:

•   The great love of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for them and his praising to them whether generally or individually.

•   Their honor because of seeing and accompanying the best and noblest human being. Allah, The Almighty, chose them to accompany His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, praised them in the Noble Quran. They are the best people. They are the best century according to the words of the beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

•   Their early conversion to Islam, their bearing harm and showing patience until Allah, The Almighty, relieved them.

•   The Companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, sacrificed for the sake of Allah, The Almighty, Islam and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, from their lives, properties and children, supporting the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and making him stand firm.

•   They supported each others as if they are one body as Allah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {…and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves…} [Quran 48: 29]

•   Their keenness on disseminating religion and conveying the religion of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, teaching people the Noble Quran and travelling throughout the whole world for this purpose.

•   They surely knew the religion of the Allah, The Almighty, best after the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and whatever they agreed upon no one can go against.

Where those with the great love of you sent lights among the ceremonies of lovers.

They spent nights amid tears to the extent that they performed ablution with the tears of love.

****

How their nights ended while they are the great people who disseminated guidance and attained great status.

They deserted houses, but where their caravan will go, who will then guide the people and whom they will follow.

O my heart, stop here for you will not reach their spectrum except with the great light of the face of Muhammad.

****

A people when they are provoked, they will be lions and when they share something you will be satisfied with their justice.

They are as if religion as a part of their souls and if they gave promise they honor it and then they are in no need to give oaths.
