Episode 1: The story of the first marriage

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Allah Almighty said: (O you people! Fear your lord, who created you from a single soul and, from it, created its mate and from them both spread a multitude of men and women, fear Allah whom you claim your rights of one another, and toward the wombs (that bore you). Allah has been a watcher over you) (1).
Allah created all people from one soul; which is Adam, peace be upon him, and created from this soul its mate Eve, may peace be upon her. He created her from the back of his left rib while he was asleep. When he woke up and saw her, he took a fancy for her and found assurance in her company and she found assurance in his, which is His saying: (He created from this soul his mate that he might take rest in her) (2); which means to get used to her and settle down with her. In the authentic Statement on the authority of Abu- Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: (Be good to women, for indeed they were created from a … rib) (3).
There is in the Statement an indication that Eve was created from the rib of Adam, peace be upon him. Allah Almighty made them dwell in Paradise in great bliss. He, Exalted He be, said: (We said: O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the garden, and eat you freely (of the fruits) thereof where you will, but come not near this tree lest you become wrongdoers) (4). And Allah said: (We said: O Adam! This is an enemy to you and to your wife, so let him not drive you both out of the Garden so that you come to toil. It is given to you that you hunger not therein nor get naked, and you thirst not therein nor are exposed to the sun’s heat) (5). Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been of bliss and affluent living, they descended down to earth and Allah brought out from them countless men and women.
