Worship of Allah is the greatest goal:

Praise be to Allah and may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon His Messenger Muhammad, his family members, his companions and his lovers.

Thereafter, in this episode we will prove that worship of Allah is the greatest goal.

No preacher doubts that the greatest and the noblest goal is the worship of Allah Almighty. All creations were created for this cause, the Messengers were appointed and the scriptures were sent down for this reason, as Allah (Glory be to Him) says: “And I (Allâh) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).” [Surat Az-Zariya’t: 56].

Furthermore, He (Glory be to Him) says: “And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad) but We revealed to him (saying): Lâ ilâha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allâh)], so worship Me (Alone and none else)." [Surat Al Anbiya’: 25].

These two blessed Verses have defined the key features of calling to Allah Almighty and they have illustrated the goal for which Allah Almighty has appointed Messengers as bearers of good news and warners. Therefore, calling to Islamic Monotheism, renouncing the polytheism and disbelief, denouncing the idolatry, acknowledging the powerlessness of every thing except Allah Almighty and neediness of all creations to Allah (Glory be to Him) are the basic foundations of inviting to Allah Almighty. But the other subjects come under the Islamic legislation and entail the principle of faith as an indispensable consequence.

In addition, belief in the Oneness of Allah, His Lordship and His Names and Qualities is necessary; whether they were attributed to Him by Himself or were described by the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him). Moreover, faith in the Messengers, Scriptures, Angels and the Day of Hereafter and the Fate and Predestination is basic need for every Muslim. As Allah (Glory be to Him) has ordered us to believe in Him and has called us to believe in all the above-mentioned facts, as faith of Allah could not be achieved but through faith in everything He ordered us to believe in.

The end of the first Verse beside the second Verse determines the dimensions of Da`wah and they explain the purposes of inviting to Allah Almighty very clearly. Let us think the blessed Verse: “Except that they should worship Me (Alone)” and when we concentrate in the blessed saying of Allah (Glory be to Him) “So worship Me (Alone and none else)." We find both Verses denote that worship of Allah Almighty is achieved only through His obedience in everything; by doing whatever He has ordered us to do and avoiding all that He forbade us to do, only through this obedience our true devotion for Him could be achieved. And that is the purpose of appointing the Messengers and creating the universe. Therefore, Da`wah has its clear features and specific dimensions.

This goal was perceived by the early Muslims and this principle was clear in their minds, evident in their words and deeds rather, in their all actions and moves, as the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him) has instilled this principle in their souls and minds, and he implanted it in their consciousness, as he (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him) reminded them of the right of Allah to be worshipped, He (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah's right on His slaves is that they should worship Him (Alone) and should not associate anything with His worship.” (1)

The Prophet of Allah (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him) has educated them that this goal should be the first requirement in Da`wah, as he (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Mu`adh (may Allah be pleased with him), when he sent him to Yemen: “Verily, you would reach a community of the people of the Book, the very first thing to which you should call them is the worship of Allah (Glory be to Him).”

Therefore, we find the earliest Muslims of this nation (may Allah be pleased with them)moving forward with this goal, calling the people to Allah Almighty with this purpose , attracting them to Allah and His religion, nothing could stop them from their mission, neither any power nor any enticement could weaken their zeal.

This is Rib`i ibn `Aamer (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was asked by the commander of the Persians: “What brought you here?” He answered without any fear or scare: “Indeed, Allah has appointed us to bring out the people from the worship of men to the worship of Allah Alone; from the injustice of other religions to the justice of Islam, from the narrowness of this world to the space of both; this world and the Hereafter.” (2)

If this is the goal of Da`wah and that is the purpose of inviting to Allah Almighty then the successful preacher is that who works on achieving the goals of Da`wah and who accomplishes its objectives. It is known that the complete success in Da`wah is to accept the truth and follow it, to refuse the falsehood and keep away from it. In fact, Da`wah is a sort of theoretical satisfaction and practical commitment. But if the invitee refuses the invitation of the caller or does not accept it then it is not an evidence for the failure of the preacher, because true guidance comes from Allah Almighty only, as Allah (Glory be to Him) says: “Verily you (O Muhammad) guide not whom you like, but Allâh guides whom He wills.” [Surat Al Qasas: 56].

The Messenger of Allah (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him) says: “I was shown the past nations. I saw a Prophet who had a very small group with him, another Prophet who was accompanied by only one or two men and some did not have even one.”  Undoubtedly, this does not denote the failure of those Prophets; rather, it indicates the lack of ability in their invitees.

Hence, the real success is to fulfill the duty properly and fully, however, the results are achieved by the will of Allah but sometimes the results are not visible because of some hidden reasons known to Allah only. It is clear through the above-mentioned argument that there are some principles that must be available in the personality of the preacher and should be practiced and comprehended by him so that the guidance would be brought and the results of Da`wah would be achieved.

The aforementioned explanation has been summarized in the following points:

1 - It is very important for the preacher to define his goal that he intends to achieve and wants to reach. And the goal must be clear to the preacher.

2 - It is also important to realize that the greatest goal and the highest purpose for every preacher and every mission is to transfer the people from the worship of worldly desires and wishes to the worship of Allah Alone in order to achieve the pleasure of Allah (Glory be to Him) and to be honored with the rewards prepared by Allah Almighty for His slaves who call people to Him.

3 - It is also valuable to identify the nearby targets that he wants to achieve so that he can reach the highest goal, such as:

- Disseminating Islamic knowledge among the people.

- Deepening the faith in the minds of people.

- Spreading the good, benevolence and virtues.

- Forbidding the open sins.

- Educating the people moral values.

- Spreading the correct concepts emanating from the Glorious Qur’an and the blessed Sunnah.

- Making the people aware of their religious duties.

- Raising the family on the religious principles.

- Encouraging the youth to memorize the glorious Qur’an.

- Propagating the blessed Sunnah.

These targets and other similar targets must be comprehended by the preacher.

4 – It is possible that some minor goals might branch out from the key goals, but a preacher should not give some goal priority to another. Anyway, every preacher has to define his purposes and objectives in the light of his possibilities, capabilities and need.

My preacher brother! I hope that you set your goals first and you should know that this is your serious beginning.

Moreover, by the will of Allah Almighty we will start in the following episode explaining the specifications of the goals or the regulations of the right target.

May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad his family members and his all companions.
