The child does not come from all the liquid (semen) (2/2)

The scholars of Qur'anic exegesis stated:

The sulalah(10) is the abstracts and it's the abstracts of the semen of despised water that the child is from.

There are a selection processes from the hundreds of millions of sperms. When ejaculation first takes place, 20 percent are incapable for impregnation after which then a large number of them die in the vagina. Later to die on the cervical is another large number and then a group goes to the right channel of the uterus and another to the left channel. You do not know from which of them contains the ovum. There are some that go to other than the spot of the ovary. At the end, only about 500 sperms arrive to the ovum and here is when the final selection and singling out of one sperm from the rest to fertilize the ovum.

In the ovum as well, there are also selection processes, as the number of follicles in the female ovary while she is still a fetus in the belly of her mother: six million follicles.

But many of them wither and die before going out into the world, and then continue to perish until at the age of puberty only thirty thousand remain. Each month a group of follicles continue to grow but only one of these follicles (called the dominant follicle) continues and completes growth. In the reproductive life of a woman, no more than four hundred of these dominant follicles are excreted.

Thus, there is a selection process of the sperm as well as the ovum. Yes, the medical researches (Medicine Digest magazine) in publication of January 1981 show that: "78 % of all pregnancies fall naturally. Fifty-percent do so before the mother even knows she was pregnant. This is due to the uterus pushing out of germ ball right after its suspending in the uterus and the mother believes that this blood, during the period or shortly after, is menstrual blood she was expecting though she is unaware that it is miscarriage blood. So there is indeed a selection and purification processes.

Indeed, Allah is truthful when He says:

ثم جعل نسله من سلالة من ماءٍ مهين

Then He made his offspring from semen of despised water.

And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has spoken the truth: The child does not come from all the liquid (semen) and when Allah intends to create anything nothing can prevent it (from coming into existence).

Comments:

The explanation of Dr. Al-Bar is great and clear, but it is focuses only on one aspect of the issue, with regards to male semen namely: it is not from all sperms fertilization takes place. This was followed by most of those who spoke in this issue.

The truth is that this stage is preceded by another stage. That is: the semen is composed of: the sperms, the water they swim in and find nutrients in as well as they (the sperms) being 0.5 - 1% in proportion to the amount of semen. This is the point of the hadeeth: «The child does not come from all the liquid (semen) ».

Dr. Al-Bar mentioned to this stage briefly earlier in his book (Creation of Man …)(11) and mentioned it, also, in its summary (The Summary in Qur'anic Embryology ".

So did, Dr. Marshal Johnson and those with him, and was concentrated on it by Dr. Hamed Mohamed Hamed, and shortly explained by Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al Sharkawi.

(10) - I did not come across this interpretation except with Al-Alusi who said:  سلالة(pronounced as sulalah) Offspring: you remove something,  if  سل (pronounced sall) -sprout from it, it is recognized from the object, and extracted from it; on the syntax structure فعالة  (pronounced fu'alah) a noun of what is happening on from the verb, sometimes intended by it such as  خلاصة (pronounced khulaasah) i.e. extract and sometimes unintended as such like  قلامة (pronounced qulaamah) i.e. nail cuttings and كناسة (pronounced kunasah) i.e. sweepings. سلالة is from the first type (of literally intended meanings).. end of quote. Ruh al-Ma'ani (18/13), see (21/124).
