The jurisprudence of supplications and invocations

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

Praise be to Allah, the Sustainer of the universe, and peace and blessings be upon the leader of the Apostles; our Prophet Mohammed, his household and all of his companions.

In this section (The jurisprudence of supplications and invocations), we will discuss the discernation of the meanings of invocations and supplications relating to the actions of a Muslim, in his morn and eve, and their meanings, such as the morning, evening and bedtime invocations, and invocations pertaining to prayers and after prayers. What to say when leaving and entering specific places, when using transportation and while travelling, food and drinking, etc... These are just some of the magnificent invocations and blessed supplications, which give companionship to a Muslim through the day and night summarized from the book Fiqh Al-Ad'iyah Wal-Adhkaar by Sheikh Abdul-Razzaq Al-Badr.

No doubt that being regular and persistent in these invocations will achieve constant blessings and bounties in this life and in the hereafter. Even more so, if one is successful in pondering over their meanings and objectives as well as reaching the purpose behind them and what they should naturally result in.

Thus, it has been ascertained in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would remember his Lord (Rabb) in all of his conditions. Scholars explained that he was like this throughout the day from early morning till late at night. He (peace and blessings be upon him) remembered Allah as a traveler and resident, standing and sitting, etc... So he wouldn't do any type of action whether sleeping and getting up, entering and exiting, mounting or dismounting, etc... Except that he would begin with the remembrance of Allah the Mighty and Magnificent and supplication to Him.

Whoever ponders over the blessed sunnah and the noble Prophetic guidance, finds that there are invocations for the morning and evening, sleeping and awaking, prayers and what precedes them, eating and drinking, transportation and travel. There are even invocations related to keeping away stress and worries as well as invocations to be said when a Muslim sees something that he likes or dislikes, etc... Thus, there are invocations which directly relate to the different conditions a Muslim takes throughout the day and night.
