Thus, his statement, peace be and blessings upon him: "…beneficial knowledge" has an indication that knowledge is of two types; beneficial and unbeneficial. The ultimate knowledge is that which brings a Muslim closer to Allah. It is the kind that brings awareness of the religion and clear understanding of the true path to follow. This is found in the statement of Allah:
"There has come to you from Allah a (new) light and a perspicuous Book. Wherewith Allah guides all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leads them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light, guides them to a path that is straight".
It is therefore very important for a Muslim to give attention to the Holy Qur'an, through revision and studying. And take account of the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which explains the means and goals of the Qur'an.
His saying in the Statement: "permissible provisions" shows that provisions are two types; either pure or filthy. Allah is pure and only accepts that which is pure. He instructed the believers towards this by His saying, "Oh you who believe! Eat of the good things that We have provided for you". This is why it is so important for a Muslim to make sure that his wealth is permissible and pure. He should pay utmost attention to avoid impure wealth and prohibited ways of earning.
His saying in the Statement: "accepted deeds" and in another narration "righteous deeds". This illustrates the fact that not all deeds that one does in worship will be accepted by Allah. The only accepted actions are the righteous deeds. Those that are done for Allah alone and upon the Tradition of His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), this is why Allah said:
"The One who created life and death to test which one of you will have excellent deeds."
This is a great supplication, which carries much benefit. A Muslim should observe it regularly in every morning, following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He should follow up these good deeds with actions. Doing so, he combines supplication and the necessary means to acquire great blessing. With Allah alone lies success and the ultimate support in all that is good.
