This Hadith contains the virtue of this Ayah, its great benefit, and its great power in protecting a person against Satan and its evil. The one who recites this Ayah when going to sleep shall be protected against Satan until the morning. This Ayah contains the oneness of Allah, glorifying and exalting Him, and explaining His Unique Qualities of perfection; thus this Ayahs achieves protection for anyone recites it. The Ayah contains five from the Most Beautiful Names of Allah and also contains over twenty of Allah's qualities. The Ayah begins with singling out Allah with divinity and negating all deities. Then it mentions the perfection of Allah's existence which is not affected by annihilation, then it mentions Al Qayumiyyah of Allah which means htat He manages everything by Himself as He manages the affairs of all creatures.
Then the Ayah negates the negative qualities from Allah such as taking a nap or sleep. Then the Ayah explains how wide the kingdom of Allah is and that all creatures, which are in the heavens or on the earth, are servants to Allah and subject to His Power and Dominance. He mentions some proofs for His Greatness such as: No one of His Creatures is able to intercede before Him except after His Permission. The Ayah also affirms the quality of Allah's Knowledge and shows that His Knowledge encompasses everything because He knows what has happened, what will happen, and the results of things that were not to happen if they had taken place.
The Ayah also confirms the greatness of Allah (Glory be to Him) through the greatness of His Creation; if the Chair, which is one of His Creatures encompassed the heavens and the earth, so how would be the Great Creator and the Magnificent Lord! The Ayahs also shows the great power of Allah and the proof to His Power is the preservation of the heavens and the earth which does not burden Him.
Finally, the Ayah was concluded by mentioning two great names which are: "The Most High and the Most Great" which confirm the highness of Allah in regard of Himself, Knowledge, and Power, and confirming His Greatness by believing that He has all the meanings of greatness and lordliness. Moreover, it shows that there is no one deserves glorification and reverence but Him.
It is a great Ayah that contains great meanings, profound reference, and knowledge about faith that show Allah's Greatness and Highness. It was authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said about this Ayah: It is the greatest Ayah in the Glorious Qur'an as was reported in the books of authentic Hadiths that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Ubay ibn Ka`b (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Abu Al Mundhir, do you know which Ayahs from the Book of Allah is the greatest? I said: Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon him) know best. He (the Messenger peace be upon him) repeated it several times. I said: Allah, there is none worthy of worship (in truth) but He, the Living, the Eternal. Thereupon he struck me on my breast and said: You may enjoy knowledge, O Abu Al Mundhir!"
