It was authentically reported in the Sunnah that the Prophet (peace be upon him) exhorted people to recite the last two Ayahs of Surat Al Bararah every night. Moreover, he mentioned a great reward and virtue for these two Ayahs. It was reported in Sahih Al Bukhari and Sahih Muslim on the authority of Abu Mas`ud Al Badry (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever recites the last two Ayahs of Surat Al Baqarah at night they will be sufficient for him." [Sahih Bukhari (No: 5009), and Sahih Muslim (No: 808)].
This Hadith shows the virtue of reciting these two Ayahs every night: "The Messenger (Muhammad peace be upon him) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allâh, His Angels , His Books, and His Messengers. (They say), "We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers" - and they say, "We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all). * Allâh burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. "Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maulâ (Patron, Supporter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people." [Surat Al Baqarah: 285-286].

They are two magnificent Ayahs which the first of them shows the faith of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and those who believed with him in Allah and in all that Allah commanded them to believe. Furthermore, He commanded them to obey Him in all that He commanded, where He (Glory be to Him) tells that they have believed in Allah, His Angels, His Divine Books, and in His Messengers. This includes the belief in all that Allah has told about Himself, the qualities of perfection and majesty that His Messengers told about Him, glorifying Him, and negating all the bad qualities such as the resemblance of His Creatures to Him, disabling His Bad Qualities, and all negative qualities. This also includes believing in the honorable angels and all that reported about them in the divine revelation, such as their names, attributes, numbers, and functions. In addition, believing in all messengers, the divine books revealed to them, and in the news, the commands, and prohibitions that were mentioned in these divine books. It is also important to believe that Muslims do not differentiate between them, but they believe in all of them and say we hear what Allah commanded us or prohibited us and we obey. Moreover, they ask Him forgiveness for the defects or shortages they have done, and they believe that their return and final destiny shall be to Him so as to either reward them or punish them for they did; this is the summary of what the first Ayah indicated.
The second Ayah contains the news that Allah does not burden people with things that they cannot stand or things that are difficult for them, but He commanded them with things that benefit their souls, bodies, hearts, and selves. The Ayahs informs people that each self shall has the result of its action; it shall be rewarded for good actions and shall be punished for the bad ones. When Allah (Glory be to Him) informed the people about the faith of the Prophet and those who believed with him, and showed that they received the commands of Allah with hearing and obedience, and that each person shall be rewarded or punished for his actions, and each person is subject to fault, error, and forgetfulness, Allah informed His Servants that He does not burden a soul beyond its capacity and informed that the believers always supplicate Allah for that: "Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error" to the rest to supplications. The Prophet (peace be upon him) told the believers that Allah said in response of these invocations: "Yes, I have answered these supplications."
It was reported in Sahih Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah said: "Yes." [Sahih Muslim (No: 125)].
The two Ayahs included the faith of the believers in Allah, obeying and worshipping Him, admitting His Lordship, their need to His forgiveness, confession of negligence in His Rights, admitting that they shall return to Him in the end, recognition that He shall reward them for their actions, supplication Him, and asking for His Pardon, Forgiveness, Mercy, and gaining victory over enemies. Indeed, they are great meanings that show the integrity of their faith, their full acceptance, and the truthfulness of their obedience to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
