Invocations during the day and night

    Verily, amongst the invocations and supplications that have been legislated for a Muslim to recite on a daily basis are what is referred to as the invocations of the two ends of the day i.e. the morning and evening. Rather, these invocations are the most comprehensive of invocations and have most mention in the texts. This was done as way of encouragement so as to deepen believers' interest towards them. Moreover, this was necessary do to the many different invocations said during these two times of virtue.

    Allah says: “O you who believe! Celebrate the praises of Allah, and do this often; and glorify Him morning and evening”. Scholars have commented that “evening” refers to the time between Asr and the sunset. "and celebrate the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting"

    And the Almighty said: “So (give) glory to Allah, when ye reach eventide and when ye rise in the morning”

    The time of these invocations is early morning after Fajr prayer up until before the sunrise. The evening, and is said eve and late afternoon, is from after Asr prayer up until shortly before sunset. Nonetheless, the issue is accommodating Allah willing. Therefore, if a worshipper forgets to recite the invocation during its appropriate time or was occupied, then it's still acceptable to accomplish the morning invocations after sunrise or the evening invocations after sunset.
