Amongst the lessons drawn from the above-mentioned Hadeeth:
- It is permissible for one to lie at wars and the like to save his life from destruction, whether of himself or others of those who have sacred life.
- The young boy ordered to be killed so that the religion may prevail. Therefore, the four prominent Islamic jurists viewed that it is permissible for the Muslim to indulge in the rows of the non-Muslim, even if he thinks mostly that they will kill him, whenever there is an interest for the Muslims. This is something different from what called nowadays Martyrdom Operations about which modern scholars held different opinions. Some allowed it while some other prohibited it. It may be permissible if it implies a general benefit for Muslims. Allaah Knows best.
- Severity of the enmity of the non-Muslims to Muslims, seeking to avert them from their religion. When people believed in their religion, non-Muslims tempted them to turn away from it.
- The glory of the believers, their firm adherence to their religion, and their great patience about afflictions. Allaah The Almighty has praised them and gave them lasting fame in the Soorah (i.e. chapter) of Al-Burooj. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): { By the heaven, holding the big stars. And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of ‘Arafaat (Hajj) the ninth of Thul-Hijjah]; Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, When they sat by it (fire), And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allaah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allaah is Witness over everything. Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allaah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire.} [Quran 85: 1-10]
- One should give much care to children for the purity that they have and the great tendency to learn and study, especially, the intelligent amongst them so that they may improve themselves and be of great benefit to their nation. Also, it is obligatory to protect them from the different ways of misguidance and temptations for they change very quickly and can be affected easily.
- The danger of the callers of misguidance on people and their strong strive to spread corruption as it was clearly appeared in the strong desire of the magician to revive his knowledge although magic implies opposition to the Command of Allaah The Almighty, evil and causing harm to people.
- The great Mercy of Allaah The Almighty to His worshipers, where He The Exalted paved the way before the young boy to meet that believing monk who was on the right religion during that time i.e. the original and unchanged form of the religion of ‘Isa (Jesus), may Allaah exalt his mention. Thus, he learnt the true religion and was protected from the temptation and misguidance of the magician.
- This Hadeeth proves the Karaamaat (i.e. supernatural abilities or event which Allaah The Almighty cause to occur on the hands) of the Awliyaa' to support them.
- Prescription of helping people, fulfilling their needs, removing what causes harm to them, and keeping harm away from their roads. It was narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, counted that as one of the branches of Emaan (i.e. faith).
- One should direct people to their creator, instill in them that bringing benefit and causing harm is on the Hands of Allaah The Almighty only and any other person has nothing to do with that. Accordingly, it is not permissible to attach hearts with others than Him The Exalted. Therefore, when one of the king’s courtiers who had become blind asked the boy to cure him, the boy said, ‘I do not heal anyone, it is Allaah who heals. If you believe in Allaah and call on Allaah, He will heal you." The blind man believed in Allaah The Almighty and thus Allaah The Almighty cured him.
- Humbleness of the scholar to his student, praising him if he deserves so; however, this should be done in a suitable degree that encourages him to keeping doing good actions and not to make him feel excessively proud of himself.
- In His Wisdom, Allaah decreed that His worshipers should taste trials and affliction to distinguish those who are truthful from those who are liars, and the truthful believer from the hypocrite. In this regard, Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Alif, ¬Lam, ¬Mim (these letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allaah (Alone) knows their meanings). Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allaah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allaah knows all that before putting them to test) } [Quran 29: 1- 3]
- Sincere taking refuge in Allaah The Almighty is fulfilled by supplicating Him and having trust and certainty of His response. This appears clearly when the boy said: ‘O Allaah, protect me from them in whatever manner You wish’ and Allaah The Almighty responded to him and saved him from them.
- Observing persistence on calling people to Allaah The Almighty, and striving hard to declare the truth, convey it to the people and resist falsehood.
- Truth will be prevail and victorious, and people adopted it if the callers strived hard to explain it to people and sacrifice greatly for its sake.
- Amongst the great examples of achieving victory is the victory of Emaan by adhering to it firmly and offering one's life for its sake because the result will be getting the Pleasure and Paradise of Allaah The Almighty.
- Allaah The Almighty keeps the believer firm and steadfast as it was occurred to the woman who wants to go back, then Allaah The Almighty made her little baby speak and said: "O mother, have patience, for you are on the right path."
