Obligation of the Islamic Nation towards Such Guidance and Light:

If the Noble Quran as stated in the Book of Allah, The Almighty, and Sunnah of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, guidance and light, then the Islamic Nation is obliged to adhere firmly to this guidance and cling to this light, especially the Noble Quran called us to this and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, instructed and encouraged the same. Adhering firmly to the Noble Quran implies all guidance and success, goodness and righteousness, and standing firm on the right path in this life and protection against severe punishment in the Hereafter.

The great aim behind sending down the Noble Quran is to make its followers adhere and act upon it, following all what it commands, keeping away from all what it prohibits, permitting all what it permits and prohibits all what it prohibits. Whoever does this will be successful and guided and whoever turns away from it will be misguided and gone astray and will be destroyed with those who will be destroyed.

Allah, The Almighty, Says (what means):

•   {[Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise - all, [your descendants] being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter]. And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind." He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?" [Allah] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."} [Quran 20: 123-126]

•   {So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path.} [Quran 43: 43]

It was reported by At-Tabaraani from ‘Abdullaah ibn Mas‘ood, may Allaah be pleased with him, who said: "Whoever wants to know that he loves Allah, The Almighty, and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, let him think if he loves Quran, then he loves Allah, The Almighty, and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him." (1).

The real love to the Noble Quran is represented in attaching heart to its recitation, listening to it, contemplating it, acting upon its commands and its prohibitions, seeking cure from it to the heart and physical diseases, engaging oneself with it during the night and the day.

As for those who claim loving the Noble Quran while going against it with their words and deeds, then he is a liar in his claim. Simply, because the lover obeys the one whom he loves. May Allah make us among those who are truthful in their love to the Noble Quran and thus Allah, The Almighty, accepts the intercession of Quran for them.
