In fact, many Ahadeeth were reported to indicate explicitly and implicitly the intercession of the Noble Quran to its companions on the Day of Resurrection. Among of such Ahadeeth are the following:

1- It was narrated on the authority of ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr, may Allaah be pleased with them, that the Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Fasting and the Quran will intercede for a person on the Day of Resurrection. Fasting will say, ‘O Lord, I deprived him of his food and his desires during the day, so let me intercede for him.’ And the Quran will say: ‘I deprived him of his sleep at night so let me intercede for him.’ Then they will intercede.”

It was reported by Imam Ahmad, may Allaah have mercy upon him, in his Musnad (2/174) from Moosa ibn Daawood from Ibn Lahee‘ah from Hayyi ibn ‘Abdullaah from Abi ‘Abdur-Rahmaan Al-Hubuli from ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr, may Allaah be pleased with them, as a Marfoo‘ (1) Hadeeth.

It was also reported by At-Tabaraani in Al-Kabeer (88, the lost part) and Ibn Nasr in Qiyaam Al-Layl (p. 23), Al-Haakim in Al-Mustadrak (1/455). It was also reported from this same route by Al-Bayhaaqi in Ash-Shu‘ab (1839). Al-Haythami said in Al-Majma‘ (10/381): "Its Isnaad (i.e. chain of transmission) is weak because of the weakness of Ibn Lahee‘ah and he was then deemed trustworthy." I said: "He was followed by ‘Abdullaah ibn Wahb as it was stated by Al-Bayhaqi in Ash-Shu‘ab and he is a trustworthy scholar." Al-Haakim said: "He meets the conditions of Imam Muslim, may Allaah have mercy upon him, and Ath-Thahabi agreed with him."

Al-Munthiri said in At-Targheeb (2/84): "Its narrators are deemed trustworthy in the Saheeh book of Al-Bukhaari." Al-Haythami said in Al-Majma‘ (3/181): "Its narrators meet the conditions stipulated in the narrators of the Saheeh book of Al-Bukhaari. This was the scholars of Hadeeth have said and decided. As for Hayyi ibn ‘Abdullah, Imam Muslim and Al-Bukhaari, may Allaah have mercy upon them, did not accept his Hadeeth while his Hadeeth is Hasan (1)".

2- It was narrated that Abu Umaamah Al-Baahili, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, ‘Recite the Quran, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection to intercede for its companions."

It was reported by Imam Muslim, may Allaah have mercy upon him, in his Saheeh, the book of the prayer of the travelers and shortening it, the chapter of the virtue of reciting the Quran and Surat al-Baqarah (804).

3- It was also narrated on the authority of Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullaah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “The Quran is an intercessor whose intercession will be accepted and an opponent whose testimony will be accepted. Whoever puts it in front of him, it will lead him to Paradise, and whoever puts it behind his back, it will drive him to Hell.”

It was reported by Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh (1/167 -  Al-Ihsaan), Al-Bayhaqi in Ash-Shu‘ab (2/2010) from Jaabir, may Allaah be pleased with him, At-Tabaraani in Al-Kabeer (10/198, No. 10450), Abu Na‘eem in Al-Hilyah (4/108), and it was classed as Saheeh (authentic) by Al-Albaani in Saheeh Al-Jaami‘ (4443) and As-Saheehah (2019).

As for the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The Quran is an intercessor whose intercession will be accepted and an opponent whose testimony will be accepted…" intercession was stated repeatedly in the Hadeeth and it means asking Allah, The Almighty, for forgiving sins. The interceded is the one who is liable accepts intercession while the intercessor is the one whose intercession is mostly accepted.

As for his saying: "… an opponent whose testimony will be accepted…" it means a truthful opponent. It also generally means that whoever follows the Noble Quran and acts upon what is stated in it, then it will be intercessor for him whose its intercession will be accept and at the same time a truthful witness regarding reporting one's misdeeds if one left acting upon it.
