Episode 11: The allegory of the Sunnah 2/2
However, our Lord did not attain satisfaction, on the belief in our Apostle - peace be upon him – by the general command emanating from Him – the Owner of Greatness and Majesty- to believe in the Apostles in general, but specified him by quotation on the belief in him, despite being included in the command on the belief in the Apostles, that is because his message is the seal of messages, and his mission a universal one for all people, this is why the wisdom of Allah required that He singled out our Apostle with His care, so He associated the belief in Him to the belief in His Apostle in verses from His Holy Book, so that the command in which there is quotation on the command on the belief in Him specifically, is understood to mean, the command to obey Him specifically, in all that which He commands.
May Allah rest the soul of Imam Shafi'i, in that he was very meticulously accurate when he pursued this route; he made the association of the command on the belief in the Apostle with the command on the belief in Allah a facet among facets of indication on obedience to the Apostle and the imposition of his following, he said: (Allah positioned His Messenger from His religion, His obligation and His Book, the position He made clear- be He Exalted in Praise - that He made him a banner to His religion by what He prescribed about his obedience, prohibited from his disobedience and made clear of his virtues, by what He associated the belief in His Apostle with the belief in Him...).
Then he said: Allah the Almighty said: (Only those are believers, who believe in Allah and His Messenger, and when they are with him on a matter requiring collective action, they do not depart until they have asked for his leave) [Chapter An-Nur /62].
He made the perfection of the beginning of belief, which other than it is a subsidiary, the belief in Allah then in His Apostle; if a servant believed in Him and did not believe in His Apostle, he is not be covered by the name perfection of faith ever, until he believes in His Apostle together with Him.
Thus, the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him- set a Tradition in all those he examined in faith.
Maalik informed us according to Hilal bin Osama, from ‘Ata’ bin Yasar from Omar bin Al-Hakam, he said: "(I came to the Messenger of Allah with a bondmaid. I said: O Messenger of Allah, I have a burden on me, should I free her? The Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him – told her: Where is Allah? She said: in the heavens. He said: and who am I? She said: You are the Messenger of Allah. He said: free her, then) (1).
Then Shafi’i said: Allah ordained that people follow His revelation and the traditions of His Messenger.
