It is enough that every person alleging love for Allah the Almighty, He does not accept his claim, and he won’t be honest in his regard in his saying, except if he loved the prophet–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–and there are degrees to love, the minimal of which is the following, a all those who spoke of the sincere divine love, say.
Ibn Al-Qayyim says: “When the allegers of love became many, they were called to give evidence to establish the validity of the allegations, if people are given by what they claim, then person who sleeps and does not love would have claimed the heartburn from the one who lives by the dreams of love, then there would have been diversity in witnesses. It was said: this claim is inacceptable without proof: (Say: If you do love Allah, follow me, Allah will love you). The whole creation was delayed, and the following of the beloved one was affirmed in: his actions, words and morals"(1).
In the fifth verse: Allah ordered to obey the Messenger, our master (Mohammed)–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–and individualised his obedience also in this verse, as he did individualise it in other verses, but He the Almighty made obedience in them a way of mercy from Him, wherein promise and persuasion on the obedience of the Prophet- peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–a general obedience, which Allah did not determine by something, and was not specified by a specification, so it remained in its generalisation on the necessity for obedience to the Prophet–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–in everything emanating from him, whether Quran or Sunnah.
In the sixth verse: Allah describes His Prophet–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–with descriptions having to do with the command to follow him, He depicted him with illiteracy and other depictions that warrant knowledge that what emanates from him originated from the revelation, and therefore his obedience must be a general one, and then finished the verse with a great promise: (and follow him, that you may be guided).
In the seventh verse: therein what was previously mentioned and what will come, that Allah has made obedience to the Prophet–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–obedience to Allah, and menaced those who turn away and show reluctance with the strongest types of warnings, and the contemplator in the verse finds that Allah has commented on His Messenger–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him –with the present tense (obey), while He commented on the obedience to Allah by the past tense (obeyed), to indicate that he who obeyed His Holy Prophet–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–his obedience has beforehand been an obedience to Allah, because Allah the Almighty is the One who sent him, and made it an obligation to obey him, so whoever obeyed him has indeed obeyed the one He sent, before being obedient to him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him ).
In the eighth verse: (So take what the Messenger assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you), and this verse was quoted as evidence by Ibn Mas’ood and Ibn Abbas–who are more knowledgeable about the signals of the Holy Quran on its embodiment of the Sunnah.
Ibn Al-'Arabi said: "His statement: (So take what the Messenger assigns to you), although the wording was ‘assign’, which is handing over , it has the meaning of command, as evidenced by His saying: (and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you); He subtended it with the prohibition, and only prohibition apposes order , and the evidence on understanding that comes from what was proven in the authentic Tradition, according to ‘Alqmah, from Ibn Mas’ood , he said: The Messenger of Allah–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–said: (May Allah curse the women who do tattoos and those for whom tattoos are done, those who pluck their eyebrows and those who file their teeth for the purpose of beautification and alter the creation of Allah).
The word reached a woman from the clan of the Bani-Asad called the mother of Ya’qoob, she came and said: I heard that you cursed such and such? He said: "Why wouldn’t I curse whom the Messenger of Allah–peace and blessings of Allah be upon him–cursed, and it is in the book of Allah! She said: I have read between the covers (of the book) and I did not find therein what you are saying, he said: If you really read it, you would certainly have found it, haven’t you read: (So take what the Messenger assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you)? She said: Yeah, he said: he did prohibit it–and he mentioned the Statement". (2).
